"I'm not here... went looking for me!If I'm back, before I return, then please tell me I should wait for me!"
In addition to my horses and the farm, I naturally also have other interests and hobbies. For example, I like TV series. But I don't watch everything that comes along at random, I'm quite picky. I do present my favorite TV series "Stargate SG-1" on a separate page. Here I'd like to share with you four other shows that I've enjoyed watching over the years: "Sanctuary" starring Amanda Tapping, "Star Trek Voyager" starring Kate Mulgrew, "Charlie's Angels" starring Kate Jackson and "Xena: The Warrior Princess" starring Lucy Lawless.
SciFi / Mystery(Canada / 2008 - 2011 / 4 Seasons / 59 Episodes)
Info: For everyone who knows "Stargate" there will be a reunion with many familiar faces at "Sanctuary". Among others, you will meet Kavan Smith (Major Evan Lorne) and Christopher Heyerdal (Todd) from SG Atlantis, as well as Garry Jones (Sergeant Walter Harriman) and Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) from SG-1.
What it's aboutDr Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping), doctor and scientist (born 1850 in Victorian England) and her daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) run the "Sanctuary", a refuge for abnormal beings. Together with her protégé Dr. Will Zimmerman (Robert Dunne) and Henry Foss (Ryan Robbins), Helen fights evil and tries to make the world a better place. What is interesting is the fact that Helen Magnus is 157 years old and her comrades-in-arms John Druitt, Nikola Tesla, James Watson and Nigel Griffin are also very old and have special abilities.
MultitaskingAmanda Tapping stars in this series but also directed three episodes of Sanctuary: Veritas (S02E07), One Night (S03E13) and Uprising (S04E02). She was also one of the executive producers of the show!
Interesting to knowSanctuary started out in 2007 as a series of 15-20 minute webisodes. A television company eventually acquired the series and commissioned 13 episodes for 2008. The series tried to be a low-budget production, but one that had to meet high standards. Since the producers retained their influence over the duration of the series, a demanding series could be made. Since "Sanctuary" was supposed to be an all-Canadian series - filmed, produced and performed in Canada by Canadiens - they looked for a Canadian composer for the soundtrack from the second season on and found him in Andrew Lockington.
Always there for the othersFor Amanda, the show was all about giving people a sense of belonging and a safe place, no matter how "abnormal" they might look and act. Because Amanda has relevant, personal experiences with people who have been marginalized - including her own brother - she wanted to bring the spirit of inclusion to the set, trying to make each person feel welcome. She tried to give everyone the same conditions and respect. It didn't matter to her whether the person was cleaning the set, serving the food or producing the series.
English is not just EnglishQuite a few native English speakers criticized Helen Magnus' accent as a bad British accent. However, this "dirty" accent was deliberately chosen by Amanda because Helen Magnus not only spoke the English of the Victorian era, but due to her longevity was also exposed to the influence of other countries, other languages and other, more modern times and this fact changed her accent accordingly over the years.
Brown instead of blondeAnyone who had seen Stargate suddenly had to get used to it, because Amanda was suddenly dark-haired here. It was a very conscious choice she made with the coloring and length of her hair. She wanted to ensure that the character of "Helen Magnus" was completely separated from "Sam Carter", not only in character but also visually. However, her little daughter, who missed her mother's blonde hair very much, was unhappy with this decision. By the way, the photo of Helen Magnus with her daughter Ashley that you see in the opening credits is a photo of Amanda with her daughter Olivia.

Star Trek Voyager is the fourth series in the Star Trek universe after TOS, TNG and DS9. The series is about the voyage of the brand new and recently commissioned USS Voyager, which is stranded in the Delta Quadrant 70,000 light-years away and goes fearlessly on its way home through unknown territory. Under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), the Maquis and Starfleet must work together to face the dangers of the long journey. They are supported among others by the Talaxian Neelix (Ethan Phillips) and the Borg Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan).

Murder Mystery(USA /1976 - 1981 / 5 Seasons / 115 Episodes)
After Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson [right]), Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett [center]) and Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith [left]) have successfully graduated from the Los Angeles Police Academy, the three attractive policewomen become private investigators and are engaged by the Charles Townsend Agency. They make good money and have a good life between assignments; but there is also a small drawback: they have never met their wealthy and mysterious boss Charlie. The three always receive their missions via loudspeaker, the briefings are carried out on a video screen. John Bosley (David Doyle), who heads the detective agency and the administration of the jobs, is always at the side of the three detectives with advice, action and a lot of humor. After Jill later changes careers, her younger sister Chris Monroe (Cheryl Ladd) takes her place. Tiffany Wells (Shelley Hack) and Julie Rogers (Tanya Roberts) later join the Townsend agency.

Fantasy - Show(USA - New Zealand /1995 - 2001 / 6 Seasons / 137 Episodes)
Xena (Lucy Lawless) is a merciless warrior who, as the leader of an army of outlaws, robs, murders and loots. Wherever she and her merciless men appear, there are only corpses and scorched earth. A meeting with Hercules and Iolaus changes Xena so much that she looks for a different, new way for herself.
Xena is at a crossroads. The warrior princess renounces her old life and puts down her weapons. But the path, that is laid out for Xena, does not lead to a peaceful life, but takes her to new wars: she witness cruel men raiding a village and kidnapping the women. Xena does not hesitate, rushes to the aid of the residents and saves them. A young woman, Gabrielle (Reneè O’Connor), is fascinated by the fearless fighter and joins the warrior. Initially angry about the young bard's company, Xena soon appreciates her as a companion in combat and a moral compass. Courageous and passionate, with Gabrielle and Joxer (Ted Raimi) at her side, Xena fights the evil in her country with sword and chakram. With her extraordinary fighting technique, strength, intelligence and humor she succeeds again and again in defeating entire armies and even gods, but sometimes the victory demands high sacrifices.
